Ramot Naftaly Winery

The Ramot Naftali Winery is a boutique winery located in the Ramot Naftali in the Upper Galilee.  It was established in 2003 under the ownership & management of winemaker Itzik Cohen, & it produces about 10,000 bottles a year.  The winery’s grapes are harvested from its own vineyards in the Kedesh Valley – a selected wine-growing region characterized by a quality terroir for the growth of wine grapes – especially, red wine grapes.  Its wines are aged in French wood barrels during 12-24 months.  The winery’s wines have earned many prizes & medals in local & international wine shows.   The wines from this winery are Kosher.
Malbec 2010

2010 was a very hot year and this led to intense ripening, which benefited the Malbec as a variety that prefers warm climates.  The Malbec variety has multiple clusters and so it undergoes significant crop thinning and pruning, resulting in extensive extraction of the grapes’ color and flavor.

The harvest takes place in mid-September, when the grapes reach a sugar level of 26 Brix.

The Malbec’s color is a deep purple hue with a tendency to black.  Its flavors offer a feeling of dried European plums with tobacco spices.  Its smell is rough and sharp.  It leaves a pleasant and prolonged finish in the mouth.

This wine is kosher.

Barbera 2009

Barbera grapes are harvested in August at a Brix level of 23.
Cold maceration prior to fermentation, and 10 days’ fermentation in temperatures rising up to 28 degrees.  Full malolactic fermentation.  Very gentle pressing.  Aging in new Seguin Moreau wooden barrels for 1 year.

This wine is kosher.
